HD vs SSD RAID0

When I record 2560x1440 60fps my game and recorded video is "ragged". I thought it is because of writing speed so  instead of using Toshiba X300 High Performance 6TB 7200rpm I switched to RAID0 made with two SSD disks.

It doesn't help. Also benchmark is showing me 171 MB/sec with RAID0 SSD and 196 Mb/sec with Toshiba HD.

Why is that? I would expect RAID 0 SSD to be much faster than Toshiba HD 7200rpm.
Is there something else that can be responsible for low performance while recording (ragged game and recorded video)?

RAID0 is made with Marvell Serial ATA 6.0 Gb/s ports.

Takedown

Post logs : http://forum.exkode.com/index.php?topic=2.0

That does sound like a low write speed for raid0 ssds
Using Windows 10 ?  Try the latest version first http://exkode.com/dxtory-downloads-en.html

can someone help me with this pls?

Does "ragged" means the video is choppy / missing frames ?

From my calculations I estimate that you will need over 200 MB/s to be able to record UT codec at 1440p 60fps @ 4:2:0.

You would need to visit a pc hardware forum to find out more about your ssds.  It might be a drive configuration issue or perhaps a PCIe sharing problem.

As for Dxtory though, you could try scaling down the video to 1080p or even 720p and see if that clears up the issue.

Thanks for reply.

Yes, choppy / missing frames (however idk how to check if frames are missing but it looks like).

1080p works fine, its smooth. Only 2560x1440 makes problems.

RAID is made from two drives. Samsung 850 PRO and 840.

Your image shows that the SATA 1.5Gb/s interface is being used. 1.5Gb/s are 187.5MB/s, so that's why it is capped there. Upgrade to 3 or 6Gb/s SATA.

Also, it is not recommended to use consumer-grade SSDs for large file writing, as the SSDs have a maximum writing cycle count per cell.

This is so weird. Actually those ssd drives are connected to ASMEDIA ports but somehow I could made RAID 0 with them using Marvell bios.

When I delete RAID 0 and test drives on their own than they are also terribly slow. Around 150 MB/sec. My other RAID 0 set on Intel Sata 6 ports also hits no more than 170 MB/sec.

If anybody knows what can cause problems please let me know.

What does it mean, what problem it makes? Should I than make RAID 0 with two HDs?

You're going to need use your sata 6Gbps ports to get full speed out of the ssds.  If you already are using the correct ports, we don't know why you're getting slow speed.  I would try them on the intel ports if you can.  Overall though, this is a hardware issue and if you need help with it try checking the motherboard manual or some hardware forums if you're stuck.  Once you get your write speed sorted out you should be able to hit that 1440p goal.

It means the SSDs will get worn out and eventually start to lose space and ultimately not work anymore.
