Please have more file formats to be able to save the video to such as .MPEG4 and .MOV this will make uploading to youtube a lot easier as the current file formats are not accepted.

shadoom

This is a must!
MP4 is so much needed, AVI is completely out of date and useless with h264.

Please add MP4

1stMora

It would be a nice addition but you should record in lossless quality anyway. Live encoding is CPU intensive.

De-M-oN

right. It has a sense to record in lossless..

Add me to this list, being able to have the files saved in .mp4 would save headaches of having to use programs like avidemux to change all my .avi to .mp4 after capturing

De-M-oN

And you would have a bigger file with worse quality then.

But shamisomally is unable to understand that.

also: avi und mp4 are only container. I could store lossless video in .mp4 as well.

Live encoding into .mp4 will waste your computer resources while you are playing the game, meaning higher framerate hit. But hey, at least you saved time and won't have to re-encode it all over right? Well, no... If you don't have to edit your recorded footage in a video editor before uploading it to YouTube then most likely you are producing some crappy content...

Record footage in the best possible quality/performance in relation to your hardware, then patiently edit the footage and let your editor to encode it in its time, and you'll get the best quality, performance and no skipped frames.

The reason is Demon you unbelievable fricken asshat of a dickish person you are, is cause some movie editors don't like x264 files in a .avi container, and only accept it in a .mp4 container

Now go back to chewing on your foot you colossal retard

De-M-oN

There are other codecs than x264 - lossless ones. perfect suitable for avi container.

putting lossy coded video into a video editor?

makes editing slower, because of the decoding expenditure needed for h.264, and output file of your video editor needs for same quality more datarate, means bigger final filesize, than it wouldve been if you would've given the video editor a lossless file.
But you just seem not to get it.

bbscraft, shadoom and 1stMora please post in this thread http://forum.exkode.com/index.php?topic=711.0 and tell ExKoder you want Demon gone from these forums

All you did was ask for the ability to set the container to .mp4 in the future and all Demon did was come into here and insult you for dare asking about a feature you guys wanted

Your thread will lead to nothing.

All I do is giving recommendations and tips and nobody can stop me from that. also not you.

And I also helped in the old forum more than enough people with their problems.

But that doesnt matter here. I did nothing wrong. You have a bad tone though.

I again insulted nobody. Just gave my recommendation not to record in a lossy format.

wow that breaks every forum rule to do that.

Oh and Robiepax this evil of a person did the same - he recommended as well to not record in lossy. Make another thread to ban him pls.
And another thread for Malix too. He does even more recommend such things. Make threads. NOW.

ShamisOMally

Demon: All people did was ask for the option to be able to save files in .mp4 format

Why are you in this thread? WHY ARE YOU IN THIS THREAD?

De-M-oN

using anything else than .avi would require to implement other own system instead of only accessing the VfW system coming by windows.

the vfw specification doesnt allow to save in an other container format as avi.

would be huge amount of work to implement another system beside of only accessing vfw by windows. Exkoder would've to build an own system then.

Then why didn't you say that SEVENTEEN DAYS AGO instead of crapping on everyone who asked for the feature with this post:

"right. It has a sense to record in lossless.." -TRANSLATION- "That's because I think Lagi lossless is superior, which works great with .avi codec, so don't let people be able to use .mp4 container because In my mind I believe "Dxtory only uses .avi because I think it works best with lagi lossless so it has the right sense to only allow .avi because I demand that people use lagi lossless codec"

Instead of saying why Dxtory uses .avi, you took the opportunity to insult people.

Get off these forums, you are a complete and utter jerk
