Video Not Recording when Microphone Turned on

Currently I only have the trial, I just want to test everything before I buy the full software. So, I have this crappy mic I will be getting a better one though, but this one is just for testing it's the kind with the red jack that plugs into the back of the PC. However, when plugged in, and I go to my game, the video will not record at all. I don't know what that is all about, but worries me for when I get the next mic, maybe this same problem will occur.
How can I get the mic I currently have to work with this to have the video record, so I can continue to proceed with my test to see if this is the software that I want.

I assume you mean audio and not video since you are talking about the microphone being on and to be honest you don't need the microphone on to just record video.
So:
Step 1) Launch Dxtory

Step 2) Go to the Audio tab (I don't recall were it is in the trial but in the full version the icon is a headset and speakers) (your Dxtory window should look something like the attachment I have provided, though your audio format is something you will have to adjust for your specific audio devices and that can be found out in the sound category of control panel for a Windows OS)
Step 3) Add all the audio streams you need (by hitting the + button)

Step 4) Select one of the audio streams that you created (I assume you only need two, one for your microphone and the other for the output such as speakers and headphones)

Step 5) Make sure their is a check in the box that says record audio

Step 6) Select the drop down menu below were it says audio device then select the audio device you want for that stream (so say you want stream 1 to be your microphone you then select your microphone in the drop down menu)

Step 7) Repeat steps 5-6 for the second audio stream (so say stream 2 is going to be your output you then select the output you want)

Step 8) You are done

*Optional* You can set you audio to be push-to-talk (though you only really need to this with the microphone but their is no logical reason to do this for audio output) in which case you will have to hit a certain key for the audio to be recorded (I personally do not use this feature it is just not practical for me).

so, are you saying that the mic has to be on the first channel, and the sound of the game has to be the second channel?

And when I said that the video won't record, I mean when I press the hot key TO record the numbers turn yellow, but there's only one number that's telling me my gameplay frame rate, NOT the recording frame rate. See from the attachment. Yellow should indicate that I am recording, and they should tell me what my game play frame rate is, as well as what I am recording at (30 fps). However when I try to record while my mic is connected, this happens, when I turn off the channel, it works fine.

Now this is just with the Logitech HD Web Cam that I have, I want to get a Blue SnowBall Microphone however, I am currently testing, and don't want this to happen after I get the Mic.

No it does not matter which channel the mic or game sound are on you just need to make sure they are on an active channel that you have created for audio to be picked up and my first channel is the speakers for my headset anyway (though since you have have gone a bit more in depth into your problem in your most recent post then we can just ignore my last post since it means nothing).

For me to be able to see the overlay (which includes the frame rate) you need to go to the Screenshot settings tab and hit the box next to were it says include overlay. So with that information if you could be so kind as to retake your screenshots that will help me see the issue better (though you must make sure to use Dxtory's screenshot feature not the one built into the OS you are using, so make sure Dxtory has a folder to save screenshots to, you will need to tell Dxtory where this folder is, and then you will need to assign a key for screenshots, in my case that key is Print Screen)

I have included two screenshots in the attachments that includes the overlay.
In my case in the overlay settings tab the box next to video FPS is checked and the box next to Write file FPS is also checked.
So what you are saying is that in game it does not look something like the attachment I have included? If so I am afraid I will most likely not be able to help you though if the issue only happens when you have you Logitech HD Web Cam plugged in then see if you can borrow a microphone from a friend or family member and see if the issue still persists if it does then I cant help, but if it stops then the Logitech HD Web Cam is the cause of the problem.

I will not deny it is possible that it is because you have a Web Cam plugged in I have never personally had a web cam plugged into my computer when I want to record (though granted I have never once used a web cam).

I went to Amazon to buy a Web Cam anyway. I will be using the one I bought whether on not DxTory is the right software for me or not. When I get it I will try it out and see if I can record videos when I have a USB microphone connected. The current one I have is a WebCam and a red jack mic from the very old days.
