I think that it is a problem on the Vegas side.

Up for semi fixed...
So i updated to latest version of Dxtory...now i can import the .avi but there is no audio track
Could this still be related to Vegas??

Might be. Play the video with your video player, preferably test on 2 different players.

If there will be sound when you are playing back the video normally then it's Vegas issue, or you are using unfamiliar audio codec which Vegas doesn't recognise(you should use PCM audio codec).
If there won't be sound when playing back with players then possibly after re-installation your Dxtory unticked the option to record audio, make sure "record sound" is ticked.

it might be the 24bit audio you are using. 16Bit audio is basically the standard and pretty much used everywhere, and you really can't tell the difference anyway.

I plays back sound in 2 different players but only the game sound not the mic sound...record sound is ticked...in vegas i get a small 1/2 second of sound every 7-8 seconds

Switched to 16bit...no change

that's because of 2 audio tracks, usually video players only play one audiotrack at a time.
Sounds like 100% vegas issue

Imported file into HD Movie Studio 11.0 and works fine...weird how it works in one Sony product and not another...

The Dxtory devs should be the better people and find out what has changed and apply it to Dxtory...sony does not seem to care.

It's already applied... Dxtory have a wide range of customisable video and audio codecs which are also further adjustable. It's your job to find what does your Video Editor doesn't like. You must create a multiple samples with different common settings and put them through editor to find which it accepts, which not. It's not Dxtory fault Sony takes 1 step forward and 2 steps back, that's why I use Adobe Premiere, they focus on constant upgrading their software and what was supported in the previous version will surely be supported in future ones. Sony Vegas is more focused on "video cameras" support and not so much on gaming footage, which is ironic considering they own PlayStation.

VisheraGaming

It was a big mistake for me buying from Sony too. Adobe software seems to work for me, however I have a small problem, but I will create my own thread.

agd4lfie

UP for the fix!!!

Ok so the fix for me was to install the Lame Audio Codec and extract the audio by right clicking on the capped dxtory file before importing to vegas...then i import all 3 files 1 at a time.

RobiePAX

Quote from: agd4lfie on April 08, 2014, 08:50:44 AMOk so the fix for me was to install the Lame Audio Codec
Lame Audio Codec? Well that is pretty random... Either way glad it worked out for you.

agd4lfie

Yeah very random...Vegas does not show support for PCM
so I searched for a mp3 codec and that one seemed to have good results
with Dxtory.
