I'm getting this issue during my installation and can't find any solutions on google or while searching on the forum (have tried running as administrator) , can anyone help

ExKoder

As the error message, Probably, a file does not exist.
There is a problem in storage or it can consider a possibility that security software is the cause.
Of course, for an unofficial setup file, I do not care.

I'm using the official installer from here: http://exkode.com/dxtory-downloads-en.html
I've tried installing it with AVG disabled (only security software I use) but it gives the same error.

edit: spelling mistake.

I would suggest to download/update your Microsoft .NET Framework. Make sure your computer is fully updated via Windows Updates, they are important too.

Had already tried updating .NET, i've turned on windows update and installed every update there was (god that took its time ;p).
Sadly, still no luck on installing dxtory :(

Well, shit. Here's another suggestion, it's possible you don't have access to the temporary folder. To fix it:

1. Go to C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local - Right-Click on Temp folder and go to Properties - Secury tab - Make sure Everyone preset has Full Control. If Everyone preset won't appear on your end, then add it manually by clicking Edit - Add - type Everyone into the box and press OK.

2. Also make sure your computer knows where Temp folder is located. You can make sure that by pressing Start - and type "Edit environment variables for your account" - Select the found result. Make sure you have the Temp variable with the same path as the screenshot below shows:

So, I added everyone to the temp map and gave it full control, checked if the temp folders location is set-up right, it was.  sadly still no luck :\ just in case tried to shut down almost all background processes I could and ran it without AV and in administrator mode... still a no-go :(
Just some extra info i found (never knows whats usefull)
Dxtory is installed after the procces but when i try to run it or any of its other programs (AVIfix etc.) it gives this error: Windows cannot find C:\Program Files (x86)\ExKode\Dxtory2.0\Dxtory.exe

It's possible your anti-virus is still operating even when you disabled it, or it doesn't pass the applications which it already marked. You may consider try to uninstall anti-virus, restart PC, re-download Dxtory client, try installing Dxtory again.

If that won't help either, then I'm lost...

th8

Welp, no results on that one. may need to switch to fraps then :(   Thanks for trying Robie!

If anyone has more idea's then please let me know, i much prefer to get dxtory working again :p

Takedown

Did you end up uninstalling AVG ?  If not did you check the quarantine section to see if it is in fact deleting / moving dxt's files.

You could also try installing it to a simple folder name such as "c:\dxtory"
Using Windows 10 ?  Try the latest version first http://exkode.com/dxtory-downloads-en.html

th8

Yeah i've tried both of those things :/

I have installed AVG on my Laptop and installed Dxtory. AVG claims UpdateChecker is a virus and deletes it, inaccurate antivirus in my opinion. Though Dxtory still works on my Laptop.

th8 I have another idea, let's try to work around the issue. Uninstall and remove all traces of previous Dxtory versions from your PC. I have packed all Dxtory files into this file, download it below. I have tested, it works without a formal installation. Simply unzip the Dxtory folder where ever you wanted to install it originally, turn it on, activate your license or start trial, run it.

Dxtory 2.0.127.zip (4.12 MB) - To download from Google Drive click File - Download.

Omg so i found out how to fix it...
After I downloaded your files it just gave me the: Can't find C:\<addres>\exkode\dxtory\dxtory.exe error again,
so I figured it'd be something in the register. went into regedit, deleted everything with the name dxtory in it. that fixed it! its running now.
Thanks very much for the support trough this!

edit: in case anyone else has the same issue, be carefull in your register, its kind of dangerous to just delete things :)

Corrupted registry. Mhm, I wonder if it would have gotten corrupted again if you tried to use installer again instead of the files which I uploaded.

Either way, good to know your issue got resolved and useful information for future reference.

I've tried the installer for you, it worked just like it should now
